We’re a community of volunteers.
A movement is only as good as the people behind it. At Planted, our partners rely on people like you to help them grow, prepare, serve and distribute food, as well as build nourishing, equitable communities.
Our partners are involved in a variety of food security programs in different neighborhoods around Greater Vancouver. Many are looking for volunteers. Visit our Partner page to contact an organization, or browse our projects to learn more.
If you’re passionate about connecting with others and you love food, there’s a spot for you.
Volunteer opportunities include:
growing food for charities and helping low-income people to garden for themselves.
small construction projects, mostly for gardens, building patio/balcony planters (especially in spring and fall).
Assisting community kitchens and meals
facilitating or helping with meal preparations in community kitchens for a variety of vulnerable populations (elderly, homeless or near-homeless, refugees, etc.)
Hosting cooking and/or nutrition workshops
facilitating workshops for adults, youth and children.
copywriting for Planted blog or the monthly newsletter.
Videography & Photography
taking photos and creating video content for Planted and partners.
